Is it cliché to say “We can’t believe it’s already almost 2023?”
What a year it’s been. It’s wild to think that Noah came home from the NICU on January 3. The almost twelve months since have brought so much change and growth, milestones and memories.
He is babbling, smiling and laughing a bunch, has his first tooth, loves to practice standing, and is waving and interacting with others. Every time we go on the subway, he never fails to make someone smile or laugh!
Here’s a quick rundown on how we spent the last quarter of the year.
All the end-of-year holidays
This was a last-minute DIY idea, but for Halloween, Noah went as an organ grinder monkey. His costume was a big hit with all of the trick-or-treaters.
We stayed in Brooklyn for Thankgiving. Noah loved all of the delicious food, especially the mashed sweet potatoes, as you can see from the photo….
On December 6, our guy turned one year old! It was so much fun to celebrate him and reflect on what a transformation he’s undergone in the last year.
Katelyn made him his favorite treat - banana blueberry pancakes with yogurt “frosting.”
And then, it was Christmas! Even though it was technically Noah’s second Christmas, it was his first one at home, so it felt extra special.
Matt and Katelyn were off work all week, which was a real gift. Noah loved watching us turn on the Christmas tree lights, saying goodnight to his stocking, and opening his gifts on Christmas morning.
We hope your holidays were a blessing as well!
On to 2023
While it’s impossible to predict all that will happen in 2023, we do know one big change that’s coming - we will be moving in September! Exactly where to remains to be seen. All we know is that our little one bedroom apartment is not going to be sufficient much longer.
We’re having lots of conversations about what’s next, and best, for our family and for Noah’s needs. While that comes with a lot of uncertaintly and trepidation, there’s a fair amount of hope and expectation as well. We look forward to all of the ways God is going to move in our lives next year!
Happy New Year!
